The Case Western Reserve University CLIA-certified Immunology Support Laboratory, a widely recognized leading facility in the Adult AIDS Clinical Trials Group, provides leadership and service in numerous scientific, operational and administrative arenas.  

The ISL provides exemplary leadership in studies designed to monitor immune restoration in response to antiretroviral therapies, to cytokines and other immune-based therapies, and to therapeutic vaccines.  The ISL provides service in support of the AACTG scientific agenda by performance of real time and batched immunologic assays in support of AACTG trials.  The laboratory is fully equipped and experienced in the performance of all standard AACTG Immunology assays.  In addition, the laboratory has extensive backup resources in terms of equipment, facilities and staffing to assure high throughput of real time assays as required by trial protocols and rapid turnaround of batched assays when protocols are completed. 

The ISL  provides services in support of the AACTG scientific agenda by performance of real time and batched immunologic assays in support of Hepatitis treatment trials.  The laboratory's equipment, resources and experience assure high throughput of real time assays as required by protocols and rapid turnaround of batched assays when protocols are completed. 

As the site of the one of the oldest and most productive geographic medicine programs in the United States and one of the largest Tuberculosis Research Units in the world, Case Western Reserve University faculty are heavily engaged in international research.  The Case ISL serves an important role in  assisting treatment trials in the developing world, through technical assistance and the provision of immunologic monitoring.
