Every 3rd meeting is held at MetroHealth Medical Center.

The AIDS Clinical Trials Unit is located near University Hospitals of Cleveland. University Hospitals of Cleveland is a 947-bed academic medical center serving its community and the nation through patient care, research, and teaching. University Hospitals is located in University circle, approximately 10 minutes east of downtown Cleveland, on Euclid Avenue across the street from Severance Hall.

Directions

North: Exit I-90 at Martin Luther King Blvd. Proceed south to Euclid Avenue. Turn left on Euclid, then right on Cornell Road.

South: Take I-77 North or I-71 North (both become I-90 East) to the Chester Avenue exit. Proceed east on Chester to Euclid Avenue. Turn left on Euclid, then right on Cornell Road.

East: From the Ohio Turnpike the suggested route is I-480 West to I-271 North. Exit at Cedar Road. Proceed west to Murray Hill Road. Turn right on Murray Hill Road, then left on Cornell Road.

West: Follow I-480 to I-71 North or take I-90 East. Shortly past the merge of I-71 North/I-90 East, exit on Chester Avenue. Proceed east on Chester to Euclid Avenue. Turn left on Euclid, then right on Cornell Road.

From the West via I-90:
Exit West 25th Street . Turn right and proceed to MetroHealth Drive . Left on MetroHealth Drive . Right on Scranton Road .  Park in Outpatient Plaza Parking Garage. 
From I-71 North or South:
Exit West 25th Street . Left on West 25th Street to MetroHealth Drive . Right on MetroHealth Drive . Right on Scranton Road .  Park in Outpatient Plaza Parking Garage.
From the South via I-77:
Take I-490 West to I-71 South. Exit West 25th Street . Left on West 25th Street to MetroHealth Drive . Right on MetroHealth Drive . Right on Scranton Road .  Park in Outpatient Plaza Parking Garage.
From the South via 176 North ( Jennings Freeway):
Take I-480 West to Route 176 North ( Jennings Freeway). Exit at West 14th Street and follow the signs to I-71 South. Follow above directions for I-71.
From the West via the Ohio Turnpike:
Take Exit 151 to I-480 East to I-71 North and follow above directions for I-71.
From the East via the Ohio Turnpike:
Take Exit 173 to I-480 West to I-77 North and follow above directions for I-77.

Free Bowling Party for Current and Past clinical trials volunteers, friends of the Community Advisory Board and John T. Carey Special Immunology Unit Patients

The AIDS Clinical Trials Unit Staff and Community Advisory Board members invite all current and past AIDS clinical trials volunteers, friends of the CAB and John T. Carey Special Immunology Unit patients to a free evening of bowling, fun, food and fellowship.  The party is also open to everyone who has attended one of our events during the year, including last year’s Patient Education Forum/World AIDS Day Commemoration, or one of our Quarterly Community Sessions, such as our May 21, 2008 “AIDS and Aging” meeting.   Please feel free to bring a friend. 

 We have rented the entire bowling alley for the evening:  Broadway Dunham Lanes, 15750 Broadway Avenue , in Maple Heights , Ohio .  (Off of I-480).  We will have free pizza, pop and snacks.    So come and bowl, eat, talk and laugh.  All at no cost to you. RSPVs requested, but not required.

From 480 West - Exit Granger Road, turn right off ramp onto Granger Road.  After the 5th traffic light turn right into Mapletown Shopping Center.  The Bowling Lane entrance is behind the Shopping Center.

How to Be a Long Term Survivor:  A Community Education Forum

The AIDS Clinical Trial Unit’s Community Advisory Board is hosting this free event at Trinity Commons, located at 22nd Street and Prospect Avenue , Cleveland , Ohio .   The forum will feature three speakers giving short presentations on different areas which help HIV-positive people stay healthy:  Matthew Kirlough, DDS will speak on dental health; Jennifer McMillan Smith will speak on tips to remain adherent to medicines, and Stephanie Anderson will talk about the important role of nutrition.  

There will be plenty of time to ask questions. A light dinner will be provided.
